Mallard Pass Solar Farm
Mallard Pass Solar Farm is one of the UK's most ambitious renewable energy projects, combining large-scale solar energy generation with a strong commitment to sustainable land use and community benefit.
Located near the town of Essendine, the site sits across the border of Rutland Lincolnshire, the project has secured development consent and will generate up to 240MW of renewable electricity, helping to power tens of thousands of homes while supporting the UK's transition to net zero.
Planning permission for the solar farm was approved by the Government through the DCO (Development Consent Order) process in 2024 and is now in the pre-construction phase. The project is being delivered by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and its delivery arm, Private Energy Partners.

A Community Benefit Fund worth £96,000 per year throughout the operational life of the project.
An additional one-off construction fund of £200,000 for local communities.
Independent administration of funding arrangements to ensure transparency and accountability.
Use of local contractors and supply chains wherever possible and creating and sustaining new jobs throughout construction and the project’s operational lifespan.
